As I did with our Guest Bathroom, I’m revisiting my old concept for our upstairs Family Bathroom today and sharing some of the images I had on my original moodboard. It’s a fairly similar look and feel to our guest bathroom, although I knew this bathroom would function differently as our family of (almost) 4 would be using it frequently.
We’ve been moved back in for a week now and, despite the house being far from complete, we have been really enjoying the luxury of our new upstairs bathroom. It’s so interesting to me to see my own design come to life and actually also be the person using the space. Every time I shower I watch where the water flows or splashes and think about the positioning of all the fixtures!
Due to the high traffic in this bathroom, we chose chrome plated tapware over the matt black we have downstairs – I thought it might hold up a bit better, and we’ve used simple concrete look tiles on the floor and lovely matt white rectified tiles on the walls in a smaller format than downstairs. I had originally wanted the handy husband to use his welding skills to make a framed mirror with shelf, but then realised we were always going to need more storage so went with a pretty standard mirrored shaving cabinet instead over a slimline vanity unit. My pièce de résistance is a fancy black Tolomeo wall light!
Can’t wait to share all the details and some finished images with you once we paint the ceilings and window trims and just generally get our act together. More sneaky pics on my Instagram, though, if you’re keen!
